Here’s a 20" Cla-Val 133-01 dual solenoid metering valve, commissioned as a strategic upgrade to a pump house in central Alberta.
Equipped with a VC-22D controller, the valve acts as a flow control device, allowing operators to monitor and adjust flow remotely via SCADA. While it’s self-contained, this valve was selected for a much more strategic role.
Following a major line break this summer, the city installed it to enable reverse flow in the distribution system. If a similar break happens again, water can be rerouted to maintain service in areas that might otherwise go dry.
